A Year of Opposites: Glory and Grief

This year has been a year of opposites. On one hand, I stood in a moment of glory, when I proudly met The President of UAE, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, and celebrated years of hard work and achievements—a recognition I will carry with pride.

On the other, I stood in the shadow of loss, saying goodbye to my idol, my beloved father—a grief I carry quietly every day.

Life, it seems, is rarely one thing. Joy and sorrow walk side by side. Triumph and grief don’t take turns; they happen all at once.

Grief, I’ve learned, is an uninvited guest. It has no schedule. It lingers quietly, teaching you patience and humility.

This year taught me to hold both—to celebrate the highs and honour the lows. To keep going, even when the heart feels heavy.

Some years define you more than others.

Here’s to embracing it all!
