Need for Speed

This article was originally published in Truck & Fleet Middle East Magazine.

The future of fleet management will be driven by the industry’s efforts today. From electrified mobility, and autonomous vehicles to computerized drive assistance systems, it is imperative that we are flexible to transform now in order to help companies navigate the shifting landscapes of safety, efficiency, and opportunity tomorrow.

Consumers are driving this change, particularly young millennials and GenZ, as they are placing less emphasis on car ownership and more emphasis on car usage. This trend towards usership compels dealerships to investigate alternative business models, such as car-sharing and subscription services.

The shift in consumer behaviour has also led to an increased demand for eco-friendly and technologically advanced vehicles, as younger customers prioritize sustainability and connectivity features in their car usage. Dealerships must adapt to these changing preferences to remain competitive in the market.

The digital and electrification mobility trends that are highlighted in this article can significantly impact fleets of the future by reducing carbon emissions, improving fuel efficiency, and enhancing operational efficiency. This can lead to cost savings for fleet owners and a more sustainable transportation system for society and communities across the globe.

I was happy to share my thoughts on these key trends and more shaping the fleet management sector in May’s Truck and Fleet ME edition. A special thank you to the magazine for providing me with a platform to share my perspective on the industry.
